Your data, your computer

Privacy Policy

Pinaura is designed around a local Windows workflow. Your captures and the information used to organize them stay on your computer unless you choose to send them elsewhere.

Last updated: August 23, 2026

Data stored locally

Pinaura may store the following information on your computer so its capture and library features work:

  • Screenshots, recordings, thumbnails, and annotation data
  • OCR text, titles, tags, favorites, and source metadata
  • App settings, local indexes, caches, and diagnostic logs

When content leaves your computer

Content leaves your computer only when you choose to copy, export, open, paste, or share it with another application or service. The privacy practices of that destination then apply to the content you send.

OCR, microphone, camera, and system audio

OCR uses local Windows capabilities when available. Microphone, camera, and optional system-audio features are controlled by your local settings and Windows permissions.

These sources are used only when you enable them as part of a recording workflow.

Diagnostics and logs

Local logs help troubleshoot app behavior. They are not intended to contain full screenshot image contents, but they may include file paths, timing details, device information, settings summaries, and error messages.

You control whether you copy or send diagnostic information to support.

Retention and deletion

Your retention settings determine how long captures remain in the local Library. You can keep captures indefinitely, protect favorites, run cleanup, or delete items yourself.

Uninstall behavior and files stored outside the app’s managed data folders may depend on Windows and the location you selected.

Microsoft Store

Microsoft Store manages Pinaura installation, updates, purchases, and refunds. Microsoft’s own privacy terms apply to information processed by the Store.
